Born in response to a brief by Wallpaper magazine to design a bar set for drinking vodka made from copper and glass for their Handmade exhibition, the project focuses on using the properties of copper as a conductive material to cool the vodka to the perfect drinking temperature without watering it down. Copper has been used for drinking vessels for thousands of years and it is an essential trace element in plants and animals, therefore essential for the human body.

We have worked with Viennese masters Lobmeyr for the production of the set. Their 220 years of experience and level of craftsmanship is second to none as they continue to produce glassware and chandeliers by hand, combining traditional hand craft techniques with a continuos search for new typologies.

The sphere and the cylinder - pure basic geometric shapes - are the only two formal elements used to design the set, allowing the materials and their manipulation by the craftsman to be the centre point of the set.
