Having the right utensils is essential for enjoying high quality ingredients. In the same way that we use a thin crystal glass to enjoy a good red wine, we also require an appropriate cutting board and knife to appreciate a piece of good cheese, bread, salami, fresh tomato or even a cucumber. We have made the cutting board and knife the main focus for the Ventiquattro food bag. In fact, the bag itself is reduced to a cutting board which doubles as the container for the food you carry. There is a washable synthetic fabric cover for this container/board that expands to allow for bulkier food items to be carried.

This project was done in collaboration with Jorre Van Ast and Mathias Hahn for the exhibition food á porter organised by Italian luxury lifestyle magazine Ventiquattro for the Salone Internazionale del Mobile, Milano 2007.
